In his 2022 shareholder letter, Warren Buffet wrote, “a rule of my own: Find a very smart high-grade partner - preferably slightly older than you - and then listen very carefully to what he says.” Having a solid team in this 24/7 business is important, but having a trusted and super smart partner to work through what can be a complicated real estate process (of buying or selling a home) makes both of us better.
Life-long Learning
You don’t need a Princeton degree to work in real estate. But our education didn’t end when we walked out the FitzRandolph Gate. While we bring an arsenal of architectural knowledge, technical skills, and marketing expertise, we always embrace learning new things that we know will benefit our clients. Seth Klarman, CEO of the legendary Baupost Group, once said “If you walked into our trading room, it’s very low key'; there’s no volatility, no emotion. It’s not like the movies where you see Wall Street doing hard work. It’s like a library.”* Of course, being serious doesn’t mean we can’t have fun!
